Apple picking or haunted houses?

Watching a football game or reading by the fireplace? Your favorite fall activity might reveal more about how you approach teamwork than you think!

You might be a D style if… you love fall football.

Do you thrive on the energy and competition of a football game?

At work, this could translate into rallying people around a goal, celebrating wins, and keeping momentum going! You might be the person who gets everyone excited about what’s possible.

Watch out for: Not everyone is motivated by competition. Some teammates may prefer a quieter, more deliberate approach.

You might be an i style if…. you love a haunted house.

You might enjoy a little excitement and are probably not afraid to jump into the unknown.

At work, this means you are often the one encouraging others to step outside their comfort zones, bringing energy to situations that other people find intimidating.

Watch out for: Remember that not everyone enjoys surprises as much as you do!

You might be an S style if… you love apple picking.

If you appreciate experiences that are social, relaxed, and rooted in tradition, you are probably an expert apple picker.

At work, you may enjoy working collaboratively and creating an environment where everyone feels included, and naturally notice when someone needs a little encouragement or when a team member has been left out of the conversation.

Watch out for: Don’t let your desire to keep things comfortable prevent you from addressing a difficult issue.

You might be a C style if… your perfect fall day involves a cozy blanket and a good book.

You might value calm, reflection, and having time to recharge—ideally with a hot cup of cocoa in hand.

At work, you may be a thoughtful listener who takes time to consider different perspectives before responding, preferring meaningful conversations over constant meetings, and appreciate having space to focus.

Watch out for: Speak up even when you haven’t had time to formulate the perfect response. Your perspective can be valuable even when it’s still a work in progress!

Of course, your favorite fall activity doesn’t determine your DiSC style. None of us fits neatly into a single box! But when we understand our own tendencies—and recognize that other people may have different ones—we can become more intentional about how we communicate, collaborate, and respond to one another.

So this fall, whether you’re picking apples or watching football, take a moment to notice what your preferences might say about how you work with others.

And remember: the magic always happens when different styles come together.
